8 Days Skardu Tour Package from Islamabad

Early on Day 1, the tour departs Islamabad along the Karakoram Highway (KKH), one of the world's most scenic mountain roads. Additionally, the route follows the Indus River for much of the drive, passing viewpoints of Nanga Parbat, the ninth-highest mountain on earth. Consequently, travelers arrive in Chilas by evening, ready for their first night in the mountains before continuing toward Skardu the next morning.

On Day 2, the Couple travels from Chilas into Skardu, stopping first at the iconic Shangrila Resort, built around Lower Kachura Lake. Afterward, the route continues to Upper Kachura Lake, a favorite spot for photography and boating. Furthermore, a stop at Sok Valley breaks up the drive before travelers check into their Skardu hotel for the first of five nights in the valley.

Upper Kachura Lake offers calm, turquoise water framed by pine forest. Optionally, guests can arrange a short boat ride here before continuing to Skardu city.

Following breakfast, Day 3 opens with a visit to the dramatic Manthoka Waterfall. Next, the tour heads toward Shigar Valley, stopping along the way at the Cold Desert. Moreover, a detour to Blind Lake and the Sarfaranga (Katpana) Desert adds two more standout photo stops before the group explores the 17th-century Shigar Fort and the nearby Amburiq Mosque, then returns to Skardu for the night.

On Day 4, the drive heads toward Khaplu, pausing at the confluence of the Shyok and Indus Rivers and a roadside waterfall along the way. Subsequently, the group tours old Khaplu town, visits Khaplu Fort, and explores the 600-year-old Chaqchan Mosque, before driving back to Skardu for the night.

Chaqchan Mosque blends Kashmiri, Tibetan, and Central Asian architectural styles. As a result, it remains one of the most photographed religious sites in Baltistan.

Day 5 begins with a morning visit to Sadpara Lake, followed by the open meadows of Chunda Valley. Additionally, adventurous travelers can opt for a hike up to Kharphocho Fort and the nearby Organic Village. In the evening, the group browses Skardu's local market for shopping before an overnight stay in Skardu.

Kharphocho Fort sits above Skardu city and rewards the short climb with panoramic valley views. However, this hike is optional and best suited to travelers comfortable with a moderate uphill walk.

On Day 6, the tour drives to Basho Bridge, where the group transfers into 4x4 jeeps for a full-day excursion into the lush, less-visited Basho Valley. Afterward, the group returns to Skardu in the evening for its final night in the region.

Basho Valley is reachable only by 4x4 vehicle. Therefore, this jeep transfer is included in the package and led by an experienced local driver.

On Day 7, the group bids farewell to Skardu and begins the return journey along the Indus highway corridor, checking into the Chilas hotel for a final overnight stay.
