3-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Departure & Travel to Kalam via Swat Motorway

You’ll depart early from Islamabad and drive via the scenic Swat Motorway. Along the way, we stop for breakfast near Malakand Pass, then continue through Mingora and the riverside town of Bahrain. As the road climbs toward Kalam, the mountain views open up on both sides. By evening, you’ll check into your hotel in Kalam, with time for a relaxed walk along the Swat River or a browse through the local Kalam Bazaar.

Day 2 – Wilderness Exploration: Ushu Forest & Mahodand Lake

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll board a 4×4 jeep for a full-day excursion into the upper valley. The route winds through the pine-covered Ushu Forest, with stops at Matiltan Glacier and the striking 22 Waterfall for photos. From there, you’ll reach Mahodand Lake, where boating and alpine scenery make for a slower, more memorable afternoon. In the evening, you’ll return to Kalam for a second overnight stay.

Day 3 – Alpine Thrills & Return: Malam Jabba

You’ll have breakfast and check out from Kalam, then drive toward Malam Jabba Ski Resort. Here, you can try the chairlift and zipline, both offering panoramic views across the Hindu Kush range. Before heading back, we’ll make a short stop at Fizagat Park or Mingora for shopping and local handicrafts. From there, the return journey to Islamabad begins, closing out the trip.
